3. What are the effects of nanomaterials on the body?

Published studies show that nanomaterials interact at the cellular level, so caution is advised.

Toxicological data are numerous, highly disparate and of uneven quality. They are constantly evolving.

  • Nanoparticles and nanotubes behave differently in the biological environment, particularly in terms of transfer to the organism and cellular response.

  • Differences are also observed according to the nature and properties of the nanomaterials in each category, often with the same chemical composition.
