The aim of ISS is to increase the stability of structures, while optimizing the cost of construction or rehabilitation. It also involves taking into account the dynamic interaction that develops in the event of an earthquake between :

  • the works ;

  • soils and underlying geological formations;

  • foundations.

  • Earthquake-induced ground movements

    The first effect to take into account is the earthquake-induced ground movement imposed on the structure and foundations. For the building, this translates into rocking and sliding. For deep foundations, this means internal forces resulting from imposed ground displacements.
