5. Our advice

5.1 Train your staff to maintain ATEX equipment

It is advisable to use personnel trained in accordance with Ineris' non-mandatory Ismatex standard. A supervisor (level 1) working under the responsibility of an authorized person (level 2) is authorized to work on ATEX equipment. Note that the foreman may be competent for electrical or non-electrical equipment, or may combine the two options.
