2. What are the sealing and temperature constraints?

Equipment category alone does not guarantee regulatory compliance. Two other criteria must be respected when choosing equipment:

  • material sealing ;

  • surface temperature limit.

2.1 Equipment sealing

The zone for which the equipment is intended determines the category and protection rating of the equipment that can be installed there. The table below shows, for dust ATEX zones, the sealing required according to equipment category.
