10. Compulsory administrative formalities

    All modifications to the facades of residential buildings, or the creation of new surface areas, are subject to administrative authorizations. Designers and architects are familiar with these procedures. However, if any part of the building is classified as an ERP (common premises of a tourist residence, ground-floor shops, common premises of a home for the elderly, etc.), these ERP premises must now be the subject of a special administrative application for all interior modifications. This application is drawn up using Cerfa document N° 13824*02 entitled "Demande d'autorisation de construire, d'aménager ou de modifier un Établissement recevant du public (ERP)". This document, which meets the requirements of article L. 111-8 of the French Construction and Housing Code, is used if you wish to build, fit out or modify an establishment...
