3.1 Resources, roles and responsibilities and authority – ISO 14001 chapter 4.4.1
The company needs to define its organizational structure and the responsibilities of each employee with regard to the environment at all levels, from management to the field.
A member of the management committee must be appointed to maintain and implement the system, and to ensure that it is under control and constantly improving.
In practical terms, roles and responsibilities can be defined by means of function sheets, which set out environmental missions (validation of a waste tracking form, use and storage of chemical products, etc.). Authorities can be defined through an organization chart, specifying who has the authority to stop a polluting process....
