3. What technical requirements must "packagings" and "large packagings" meet before they can be used to transport hazardous materials in "packages"?
To be used for the transport of dangerous goods in "packages", a "packaging" or "large packaging" must be approved, i.e. the "packaging" or "large packaging" must be manufactured according to a standard model, approved by a body approved by the authority responsible for the transport of dangerous goods, and its production must be carried out by a manufacturer working under quality assurance, under the periodic supervision (by audit) of an approved inspection body.
This approval is evidenced by the compulsory presence of a marking starting with the "UN" logo shown in the following figure.
