2. Ballistic study of projectiles

2.1 Objectives

Once the projectiles have been formed and are no longer accelerated by the effects of an explosion or pushed by expanding gases, they are considered to have reached their maximum initial velocity. These objects will then follow a certain trajectory in the surrounding environment until they reach a target or the ground. Their speed is affected by the resistance exerted by the air, and decreases progressively with distance.

A ballistic study is carried out for each of the projectiles selected. Determining the trajectory of individual projectiles enables us to determine their range in order to assess the danger zone, particularly for people, as well as their impact characteristics in terms of energy, velocity and angle of incidence, which will enable...
