14. Conclusion
Although complex at first glance, ADR is above all a very pragmatic and specific regulation with a rationalized approach: the same levels of danger = the same levels of technical constraints. It is also very dynamic and evolving: the result of more than 70 years of reflection since its initial release in 1947, it is now a very "mature" regulation that strives to keep pace with the times, closely following both feedback from accidents and technological developments and innovations in the industry.
The key is to understand how it works: there's no need to read it from page 1 to page 1358... Part 1 gives the broad outlines, part 2 the classification rules, and once you have defined the UN numbers for your goods, the table in chapter 3.2 will guide you through the other parts as and when you need them. Don't forget to apply the specific French requirements of the TMD...
