9. Documents and onboard equipment

9.1 Onboard documents

Whether transporting parcels or bulk goods, Chapter 5.4 of the ADR stipulates that all dangerous goods transported by road must be accompanied by the following two documents:

  • the transport document (section 5.4.1);

  • written safety instructions (section 5.4.3).

Mandatory for all shipments, except for goods packaged in limited or excepted quantities, the transport document must contain at least the following information provided by the shipper:

  1. For each item:

    • UN number preceded by the letters UN;

    • official designation of the goods listed in column (2)...
