1. What is parcel delivery?

Dangerous goods can be shipped in two main ways (cf. Parcel delivery: What are the requirements for packaging and large packaging? [FIC 1237] ).

• "Unit delivery": the material is packaged in a container which is intended to be delivered to its place of use in its entirety, closed and in the same condition as when it left the production site. This is known as a "package".
