6. Mistakes to avoid

6.1 Don't confuse pictograms with hazard class determination

It's not pictograms that determine hazard classes, but the opposite: a pictogram is derived from an assigned hazard class and category. Alas, as the pictogram is the most visual and striking labelling element, this error in reasoning is widespread, even among chemists and specialists.
