ECB

Formerly the European Chemicals Bureau, responsible under the DSD directive for organizing the harmonization of chemical substance classification. This role was taken over by ECHA and its Risk Assessment Committee with the introduction of the CLP regulation.

Manufacturing

Production or extraction of substances in their natural state.

Manufacturer

Natural or legal person established in the Community who manufactures a substance there.

Supplier of a substance or mixture

A downstream user or distributor to whom a substance or mixture is supplied.

Import

Physical introduction into the customs territory of the Community.
