4. What impact does this have on the classification of mixtures (and substances with impurities)?

If you need to classify and label a mixture, several methods are generally suggested, depending on the type of information you need:

• use of mixture data ;

• extrapolation principle or classification based on the components of the mixture.

If you are basing your decision on the ingredients of a mixture, and this mixture contains a substance with a harmonized classification, you must take this information into account. Indeed, the classification of the substance may justify the classification of the mixture for certain hazard classes.

The following information in Annex VI may also affect the classification of the mixture.
