Biofilm; Biofilm

A complex, often symbiotic, community of micro-organisms adhering to each other and to a surface, characterized by the secretion of an adhesive and protective exopolymeric matrix.

Biopolymer; Biopolymère

Can be simply defined as a polymer synthesized by a living organism.
