Aerospace propulsion systems are generally of two main types: jet engines and propeller thrusters (see also [BM 3 000] ). In simple terms, the former expel the mass of propellant they have ingested at high speed (e.g. octopus), while the latter move a large flow of ambient air (e.g. swimming or rowing).
