 INTRODUCTION

Any kinetic that generates a variable volume is capable of serving as the basis for a vacuum pump model, i.e. it's impossible to count the different types of pumps that have been made, let alone those that have been invented. We'll confine ourselves here to describing the many machines that have already been produced industrially, and which are constantly increasing in number. Indeed, the possibilities offered by new materials and manufacturing processes using automatic machines with very low tolerances have given rise to new designs, even based on old principles.

For theoretical information on vacuum techniques, please refer to the following articles [1][6] .
