1. The role of non-conventional engines in the energy transition

Non-conventional internal combustion engines continue to play a crucial role in the production of mechanical energy for both mobility and stationary power units, on all five continents. These thermal machines obviously take into account the new paradigm imposed by the energy transition and its irreversible context in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These innovative engines differ from older generations in their design, operating mode and use of alternative fuels to hydrocarbons.
