4.1 External combustion engine and electric motor coupling

Electricity generation is part of a sustainable development optimization scheme. A significant and growing proportion of electricity consumption is generated by decentralized polygeneration.

In this context, this work contributes to the study of new solutions for the autonomous production of electricity and heat. Low-power co-generators do exist, but their flexibility in distributing thermal and electrical power is insufficient, their maintenance is often restrictive and their lifespan is generally too short.

The generator presented and studied at the Cnam takes these requirements into account. The use of a Stirling-type external combustion engine provides good combustion control....
