4.1 A booming aeronautical industry

After the regrettable and resounding commercial failure of the famous Airbus A380, it was the Covid-19 pandemic that grounded up to 9 out of 10 aircraft in the Air France and Lufthansa fleets at the height of the crisis in 2020. A collapse in traffic of over 90% in a single month was measured at airports in Europe and elsewhere in the world. The situation has now completely turned around, and Airbus forecasts that the world's fleet of commercial aircraft will double by 2025, with 48,230 aircraft in service, compared with 24,260 to 30,700 according to various statistics.
