1. Regulatory framework for ESP management

Pressure equipment installed in ICPEs can be covered by two general regulatory frameworks:

1) the oldest, known as the "pressure regulation", is now part of the French Environment Code covering "hazardous equipment". It governs :

  • equipment whose fluid, type and size characteristics fall within the scope defined in the decrees transposing the European directives on the marketing of new pressure equipment, and those covered by earlier texts (steam or gas pressure vessels),

  • the procedures for monitoring them in service, by the order of November 20, 2017, applicable since January 1 er 2018, which replaces the repealed order of March 15, 2000 ;
