6. Conclusion
This article is the first part of a series of tools to assist in the sizing of propeller pumps. This first part recalls the essential data needed to achieve the main objective, which is to fully define the geometry of a propeller pump designed to meet a defined set of specifications: pressure rise, volume flow rate, speed of rotation.
First, a brief presentation of industrial propeller pumps is given, along with an overview of the methods used to obtain the main geometric dimensions: impeller outside diameter, hub diameter; an estimate of the pump's efficiency is also provided. This is followed by a review of the main properties of isolated aerodynamic profiles and the geometric elements required to draw them.
