2. The diaphragm's development process

2.1 General

The diaphragm process workshop carries out all heat and surface treatment operations leading to the final properties of the diaphragm. These properties are :

  • good resistance to fatigue ;

  • resistance to thermal and stress cycles;

  • reduced hysteresis;

  • good corrosion resistance to withstand external aggression (salty seaside environment).

It should be noted that, prior to the diaphragm manufacturing process, the part is cut by presses, the cut material being called a blank. The strip of material from which the blank is made is heat-treated by the supplier to soften its structure and facilitate...
