5. Freezing point (cloud point, set point, pour point and creep point)

  • Point trouble

    As the temperature drops, an opacity appears, due to kerosene crystallization, before the fluid (e.g. mineral-based) sets. This determines the cloud point.

  • Freezing point

    This is the temperature below which a cooled fluid, under prescribed test conditions, ceases to flow.

  • Flow point

    The pour point is the lowest temperature at which the fluid still flows when cooled, without agitation, under standardized conditions.
