1. Approach

We present here the first phase of the study of the equations of EN 1591, which concerns the equations of reference document CR 13642 relating to one-piece flange connections with a flat gasket. The notations and symbols used in the standard are listed in the table at the end of the text.

We have chosen to follow the structure (paragraph numbers and titles) of CR 13642, without however reproducing all the equations.

To read the following with profit, it is therefore necessary to have it available and to follow its content in parallel with our comments below. This text is available from AFNOR :
