1.1 Equipment and measurements

Ideally, the measurement equipment records the raw vibration signal. Depending on the needs of the analysis, indicators calculated from this signal are then defined. The evolution of these indicators provides information on machine wear.

Measuring and storing the raw vibration signal is unfortunately not possible with today's equipment. This means that the technician has to plan the various indicators required to meet the objectives right from the start of the monitoring tour.
