4.1 General
Beyond the welded assembly, the definition of a structure by a competent entity (design office, engineer, project manager...) encompasses various aspects:
material (mechanical characteristics: R e , R m , ductility, toughness, weldability, durability);
design and dimensioning calculations (geometry and loads) ;
manufacturing (forming, assembly, heat treatment and NDT) ;
