3. Nickel and alloys

3.1 Physical characteristics of unalloyed nickel

In the recrystallized state, the physical characteristics of low-C unalloyed nickel such as Ni99% are close to those of Fe :

  • Modest tensile behaviour: R p0.2 = 100 MPa; R m = 360 MPa ;

  • crystallization in the CFC mesh since solidification (T f = 1,453 °C), giving rise to excellent ductility (A = 40%) at all temperatures and a wide range of work-hardening consolidation;...
