3. Continuous welding

Continuous fusion welding is carried out using the following processes:

  • coated electrode welding ;

  • submerged or flux-cored welding ;

  • MIG and MAG welding (MIG: Metal Inert Gas; MAG: Metal Activ Gas ) ;

  • TIG/plasma welding (TIG: Tungsten Inert Gas ) ;

  • electron beam (EB) welding ;

  • laser welding.

These processes produce a continuous weld seam between the edges of two parts that are brought into contact along their entire length, by relative movement of the workpiece and the tool.
