Overview

ABSTRACT

The drilling of long-fiber composite materials often entails three types of damage listed according to their area of occurrence: delamination at the entrance of the hole, resin and fiber degradation in the wall of the hole and delamination at the exit of the hole. The analysis of exit delamination allows for predicting the factor responsible for this damage i.e. the thrust force. The discrepancies observed between the results given by the numerical model, the analytical model and the experimentation are analyzed.
