Stamping rarely produces the part defined by the design office directly. It is generally necessary to produce a derivative part capable of the desired geometry, i.e. one into which this geometry will be cut during the routing process. What's more, several additional operations are often required to obtain secondary details to the stamping operation itself (edge dropping or raising, necking, detail stamping, etc.).
