 INTRODUCTION

The property values of sintered metals are given in paragraph 1 and the choice is made according to the application ( § 2 , 3 and 4 ). However, there are general rules for estimating the relative property values of sintered alloys compared with cast and forged metals of the same composition and which have undergone similar heat treatments. The essential parameter is porosity ϵ defined as the ratio of pore volume to total volume and, therefore, equal to 1 minus the relative density δ .
