 INTRODUCTION

The densification or shaping of specific materials such as metals, alloys or nanostructured ceramics, nanocomposites or highly refractory materials has led to the development of unconventional sintering techniques, with the aim of significantly increasing sintering kinetics. Among these emerging techniques, flash sintering, or spark plasma sintering (SPS), looks very promising and is experiencing a spectacular rise in popularity.
