1.1 Basic data on heat transfer mechanisms in granular media

Heat transfer in a gas-solid medium depends primarily on the thermophysical properties of the divided solid, but also on those of the interstitial gas.

  • These, i.e. the gas's density ρ g , its mass heat capacity C P g , its thermal conductivity λ g , and its dynamic viscosity µ g , are all highly temperature-dependent.
