It's easy to find out the power demand of each piece of equipment. To do this, read the power ratings indicated on the equipment, then identify the operating and shutdown status of the installation.

Building an accurate histogram of power demand in a workshop or industrial site requires several phases.

The first step is to identify the various energy-consuming machines in the workshop, along with the nominal (or partial) power ratings of each of them; these ratings may be electrical, thermal or refrigeration.

The second phase is to identify, on short time steps (hours or less), equipment in operation (nominal or partial operation) (e.g. for a milk processing plant) or shut down.
