First, it is necessary to determine whether a simplified regime known as “minor geothermal activity” is feasible given the regulatory constraints. Each area has been categorized based on the identified hydrogeological constraints. It is also necessary to verify the immediate protection zones around drinking water intake facilities.

For all these geothermal projects, financial assistance is also available for:

  • the (hydrogeological) feasibility study;

  • design studies;

  • capital projects.

Information regarding the simplified "minor geothermal" regime is available on maps that use color codes (green, orange, or red) to indicate the level of restriction (least restricted, somewhat restricted, or most restricted)....
