2. Identify energy resources and waste heat

The analysis is carried out in several phases.

2.1 Phase 1: representation of a process

In the material and energy flow diagram for a process , the material flows entering the process (in blue) are defined, for each flow, by :

  • the type of fluid, characterized in particular by its heat capacity if the fluid is in vapor or liquid state, its latent heat if the fluid is likely to be vaporized or condensed;

  • mass flow rate ;

  • the initial flow temperature and the temperature to be reached (the process temperature Tpr).
