1. What are ICPE's obligations?
ICPE (installations classées pour la protection de l'environnement) are required to :
prevent both accidental risks (explosion, fire, accidental release, leakage of toxic products, etc.) and chronic risks (prolonged exposure to very small quantities of pollutants likely to have an impact on people's health);
protect the various components of the environment (water, air, soil, landscape, etc.) or reduce the impact of noise and odor pollution, etc. ... ;
preserving biodiversity (fauna, flora, ecosystems, etc.) and the use of resources ;
combating the effects of climate change (environmental sobriety and energy transition, decarbonization, etc.).
