7. Environmental and social impacts

An offshore wind farm generates several types of environmental impact, which we have attempted to summarize here. Given the current state of knowledge, the actual impacts have yet to be fully quantified. The following text should therefore be treated with caution, as future data could well lead to a more or less thorough rewriting.

Every offshore wind farm project must be the subject of an environmental impact assessment, drawn up with site-specific considerations in mind. Only such a document can claim to cover all the points .
