4. Offshore construction

Generally speaking, offshore installation is carried out in several phases:

  • soil preparation ;

  • installation of support structures – securing them to the ground – anti-scouring protection ;

  • mounting the wind turbines on the supports ;

  • electrical wiring – connection.

This list shows that offshore construction activities are highly varied. Sometimes heavy loads have to be carried, sometimes precise assemblies have to be carried out at great heights, sometimes work has to be carried out at great water depths, or close to the beach, etc. The list goes on and on.
