3. Evaluate the energy performance of your lighting system

Standard NF EN 15193 (Energy performance of buildings – Energy requirements for lighting) provides a methodology for calculating lighting consumption for new or renovated buildings, in line with the criteria of directive européenne sur la performance énergétique des bâtiments (DE 2 002/91/CE) .

The building's lighting consumption is expressed in kWh. m - 2 per year, in the form of the W/A indicator with :

  • W total power (in W) consumed by lighting (lamps and control gear) ;

  • A total useful floor area (in m 2 ) of the building.
