5. High photometric and energy performance of lamps

Operators have three options for replacing incandescent lamps that are no longer on the market.

  • High-efficiency halogen lamps: these offer energy savings of 30% compared with conventional incandescent lamps. For example, a 60 W incandescent lamp can be replaced by a 42 W halogen lamp.

  • Compact fluorescent lamps: they offer 80% energy savings and last 6 to 15 times longer than conventional incandescent lamps. A 60 W incandescent lamp can be replaced by a 13 W lamp.

  • LED lamps: they combine energy savings of up to 90% with lifetimes 10 to 30 times longer than incandescent lamps. A 60 W incandescent lamp can be replaced by an 8 W LED lamp.
