5.1 Performance and optimization

Since the middle of the last century, air-cooled refrigeration has developed strongly, particularly in the petrochemical industry. Against this backdrop, direct dry air coolers have enjoyed considerable growth, providing economical and reliable technical cooling solutions as an alternative to water cooling.

In fact, air-cooled heat exchangers have the considerable advantage of using ambient air, available in any location and in large quantities, as a cold sink.

What's more, unlike water, they require no air treatment circuit. This makes them easy to install and operate.
