2. Defining an installation

The complete definition of a refrigeration plant can only be envisaged in one way, once the following key points have been established, whose logical sequence makes it possible to define its physical make-up (figure 2 ).

• Type of application and choice of evaporating temperature ${\theta }_F$ : depending on whether the application involves cooling air, a liquid or a solid, generally referred to as cold sources, the temperature level to be achieved T _F determines the evaporating temperature level...
