4. Condensers

In any refrigeration machine, the condenser is the device used to remove the heat of desuperheating, condensation and subcooling, which we remind you is the sum of the heat extracted from the evaporator and the work of compression. In a heat pump, this device, which plays the same role, becomes the heat emitter.

In cascade systems, which by definition comprise two circuits each operating with a particular fluid, the evaporator of the high-temperature system (e.g. R717 (ammonia)) is the condenser of the low-temperature system (e.g. R744 (CO 2 )).
