 INTRODUCTION

Joint caulking in the building industry involves placing the appropriate products in the joint to prevent the penetration of moisture, water, insects and grouted wind.

In this first article, after giving the usual terminology, recalling the role of joints in construction and quoting the normative and regulatory documents, we'll look at the other functions of caulking products, joint movements and then the choice of processes or products as well as the characteristics of these products.
