3. Choice of bonding technique

3.1 When should gluing be chosen over other joining techniques?

According to the table 1 , bonding offers decisive advantages in the following cases.

  • Even stress distribution, joint rigidity and homogeneity

    For equal material thicknesses, bonded joints are much more rigid than conventional screw, rivet or bolt assemblies (figure 2 ).
