2. The benefits of bonding in construction

The table 1 shows that gluing is often the best assembly method:

• or on a technical level;

• or economically;

• sometimes also in terms of aesthetics (e.g. bonded outer glass).

Finally, this is sometimes the only possible assembly method.

Today's adhesives have certain limitations (heat resistance, durability) that we need to be aware of, in order to use them within their field of possibilities.
