2. Manufacturing

2.1 Dense silico-calcareous

The following materials are used:

  • 0 / 5 mm clean sand, some of which (5 to 10%) can be ground to a fineness of around 1,000 to 2,000 cm 2 / g (Blaine fineness);

  • quicklime CaO. The ratios are as follows (by mass):

    • fine sand: 12,

    • quicklime CaO : 1 ;

  • water: around 4 to 8% of the mass of dry matter;

  • colorants (possibly): pigments consisting of metal oxides.

The mixture of quicklime + sand + water is homogenized and then passed through reactors.
