ABSTRACT
This article allows for the understanding of the aggregates market via the study of their production and uses. The different production stages of these aggregates are reviewed: extraction, transportation, treatment itself, and specific cases. The protection of the environment and quality mastery are two significant aspects that must be taken into consideration during the production stage. Certain use specifications have been enacted in the domain of road pavements and concretes. To conclude, the French market of aggregates is dealt with: production, consumption, and transport.
